A FREE New Year's Eve celebration for residents and their guests
DATE: Sunday 31 December, 2017
TIME: 4.30pm to 9.50pm
VENUE: APEX Park, Lake Albert
It wouldn't be summer in Wagga Wagga without a spot of backyard cricket, gourmet BBQ and dip in the pool. The perfect warm-up for Wagga Skyworks!
4.30pm - 9.30pm
The Hutcheon & Pearce Family Picnic Area will come alive with John Deere pedal tractors, farm animals*, face-painting*, jumping castles* + more for the kids. There'll be live music on the Moane Fitzgerald Civil Stage from 5pm (line-up below), amusement rides** as well as a variety of food trucks. Keep an eye on the sky for the Wagga Warbirds who'll be performing a fly-over at 5.45pm.
Due to the presence of blue-green algae, organisers have elected not to proceed with the water-based entertainment this year.
*To access the animal farm, jumping castles and face-painting, the kids will need to have a #WaggaSkyworks wristband, which will be available for purchase on the night for $10 (or two for $15).
**To ride the amusements, pick up an Unlimited Ride Pass from Tony Joes Amusements on the day for $30. Individual tickets are available as follows:

To get us started, there'll be a show for the kids on the Moane Fitzgerald Civil Stage from 5pm - 5.45pm.
Bring your dancing shoes and rock out to the sounds of:
- The Groove Factorie from 6pm - 7pm
You're guaranteed to get your groove on to hits from Chicago, Blood, Steely Dan, Sweat & Tears and Stevie Wonder to name a few!
- The Wagga Wagga and District Highland Pipe Band (WWDHPB) from 7pm - 7.15pm
Sporting the MacPherson Tartan, the pipers and drummers of the WWDHPB will perform some of their favourite tunes.
- The Mighty Yak from 7.15pm - 8.15pm
Get your final dose of rock, pop and country for the year and enjoy covers from INXS, Powderfinger, Darryl Braithwaite, Taylor Swift, ACDC, Keith Urban + more!
- The Convicts from 8.30pm - 9.30pm
If you're a fan of 70's - 80's Aussie rock, you're in luck! Countdown to the fireworks with the iconic pub-rock tunes you know and love.
The MC for the night will be Grant Luhrs.

Cool off with the Riverina's biggest and best New Year's Eve fireworks show, the Wagga Wagga City Council Fiery Fireworks Finale! The best vantage points will be at APEX Park and along the eastern and southern sides of the Lake.
What a night! Wind down the clock with friends and family at one of the cities vibrant clubs, hotels or bars, or bask in the comfort of your own backyard with good company until the stroke of midnight. Courtesy buses will be running from the corner of Eastlake Drive and Lake Street on the night.
Those that live in Lake Albert (and make it to midnight) are encouraged to look to the skies come 12am to enjoy a short fireworks display from their backyard or a nearby licensed venue. Happy New Year!
